Individual Therapy

This is a one-to-one process that is built on the therapeutic relationship between counselor and client. Sessions are based on your goals of therapy and will allow you to collaborate with your counselor on what approaches are best for you. Any topic is welcome and will always be met with compassion and non-judgement.

Trauma Informed Care

A trauma informed approach acknowledges that we must understand a client’s whole life situation, both past and present, in order to effectively treat their symptoms. The core principles include safety, trustworthiness, peer support, collaboration, empowerment, and humility which work to reduce shame within the therapeutic relationship. Being trauma informed shifts the narrative from “what’s wrong with you?” to “what happened to you?”.

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)

“EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the client to focus briefly on the identified trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Person Centered Approach

Person centered therapy is a client-based approach that empowers the client to have control of their treatment and allows them to direct their sessions as they see fit. It is based on the core principles of empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard. Person centered therapy believes that everyone is capable of reaching their full potential and is capable of creating meaningful change.
